A fantastically entertaining and empowering account of roleplaying, Jim. I played D&D as a teenager, and I think we were all too inhibited as a bunch of adolescent boys to really make the most of the opportunities it offered to express or project hidden facets of our own characters. I instead found my voice and began to overcome shyness and introversion through acting, which played a similar role, allowing/forcing me to speak up and be seen by the world.
