And who, I imagine, include a significant proportion (maybe 30-50% at a wild guess?) of those invited by Medium to be its public face at the last two Medium Days.

This is (one of the many points) where its claims that 'it's just a few people affected', 'they don't write the kind of content that matters to us', 'nobody's interested in them and their echo chamber crap' fall down.

The voices - longstanding supporters and benefit-of-the-doubt-givers like yourself, Debra, Sally, etc., etc. - now all agreeing that things are fucked up are the same people that Medium just a few months ago were showcasing as the brightest exponents of its better human internet bollocks.

It's Stalinist revisionism (with dodgier facial hair) to now claim these are just outliers or marginal figures, when the company itself championed them so recently.

There is not a single thing that any Medium staff have said in the last six months that hasn't been directly contradicted either by a previous or subsequent statement, or the bare facts we can all see at the end of our noses.
