Despite my nostalgic affection for The Lost Boys, which I should probably rewatch in a Late 80s Teen Vampire double bill with Near Dark, I would agree.

I have an irrational dislike for Michael Douglas - I just somehow find him annoyingly smarmy in pretty much any role.

But he is great in this, the perfect antihero.
