Fantastic song - a great gift of true love to the Mediumsphere, Dana!

Weirdly and coincidentally enough, after reading this article by Janice Harayda -

I was thinking about writing a short story sequel to Avril Lavigne's Sk8r Boi (one of my guilty plastic punky pop pleasures, and to my mind a masterpiece of two-minute narrative) in which the disillusioned skater and ballet dancer meet again in later life. And then these skating youngsters turn up in a story of lonely anguish and reflection.

And even more coincidentally, his middle-aged musical persona was to be based on the vibe of Seattle's own Duff McKagan in This is the Song, which I came across by chance on Mastodon a couple of months ago.

So I now feel I really must write it, despite having no track record in the genre at all. I'll see how it goes.

And add Bend to my creative playlist for the process.
