The Henry VIII portrait is perhaps his most iconic, with its 'I'm the boss' stare, stance and sumptuousness, but it's Thomas More that really appeals to me. The intensity of thought and vision of the true statesman. Not for nothing was he assigned the (now thankless) patronage of 'politicians and statesmen' as his saintly province.
