Glad you enjoyed it, Linda. 'Smiles and Tears' is a weird one, as you would have expected something like 'The Singing Nun', or 'Singing in the Alps'. In fact the Latin American title was 'La Novicia Rebelde' - 'The Rebellious Novice'.

More descriptive, but you have to ask yourself: did they not realise that music is absolutely central to the whole film?
