Good luck with it, Joe. I was lucky enough to leave my homeland simply because I wanted something different, rather than feeling forced out by the self-destructive direction in which my compatriots were steering the national zeitgeist.
Though a generation later, any Brits wanting the chance of a stable life in another EU country were indeed forced out to get their foot in the door before the horrific consequences of Brexit took hold.
And the same is increasingly true for US citizens now.
Perhaps we need to coin a new term: 'ideological migration'. The Pilgrim Fathers and Huguenots in reverse.
