Great to read a piece about my birthplace of the Wirral! I've written a couple of pieces myself about famous figures born on the peninsula - OMD (before your time, I guess) have a phone box preserved in their memory in Meols, just down the road from New Brighton.

And the novelist Malcolm Lowry (of Under the Volcano fame)was born in New Brighton itself.
