Haikus are tough in Spanish in general - too many damned syllables with all these o's and a's on the end of words to keep to the 5-7-5.

In Italian operas they I think they often chop the vowels off (hence the falsettos?) to make the words fit. The Trieste dialect actually uses that form in general. The Slovenians they share the city's heritage with sometimes skip every vowel: Trieste in Slovenian is 'Trst' - how's that for concision?

Catalan is similar - easier to do haikus. But I don't speak it, just understand.
