Hi, Mike. I've been dabbling in fiction a little of late, and plan to do more. Like you, I haven't found a home yet, but ideally plan on using a Medium publication for that very reason of community, and to avoid compartmentalisation. I like the idea that people who might read some satire, memoir or politics piece that I've written could also encounter and enjoy my bits of fiction. Which after all, share my same voice and style to an extent, despite being a different genre.

The question is: which pub, to get a large enough audience and also supportive community vibe from editors and fellow writers? I've published some stuff on Pure Fiction, but it does seem a little 'fire and forget' - no sign yet of the community spirit their 'About us' page promises. Maybe that will change. But of course you don't want to be chopping and changing, as that makes it harder for people to find all your stuff in one place.

It certainly is a trickier issue here on Medium than finding a platform for humour, environment, memoir or other niches.
