I feel that Flash created a genuinely native web style - and also encouraged the hypercondensed narrative approach still with us in the form of TikToks and memes.

I was working on websites around that time . but not really before or for a fair while after, so I'm not sure my perception hangs together contextually, but it's interesting to see that in particular highlighted as a defining aesthetic milestone.
