I have an idea for another piece about the Duckworth-Lewis statistical method used to calculate the par score in cricket matches which are shortened owing to rain interruptions, and how it expresses the concept of 'resources' of different types, and their changing value depending on the timing and circumstances. But that will require more research than I perhaps have time for at the moment.
