I read somewhere recently that electric scooters were having a bigger impact on inner city pollution than electric cars. Rather than change car, which is unaffordable for many workers, they can simply leave it at home and get to work on a scooter which requires a fraction of the resources to manufacture and electricity to get them from point A to B. For micro-commutes options to not only go electric, but massively reduce the weight being transported around, offer massive benefits. Less so in a wet, windy British January, I guess.
