I remain surprised at how little Medium management seem to be doing to attack the whole AI ecosystem, given that it entirely undermines their selling point of 'the home of quality, personal, considered, curated writing online'.

Sure, filtering the texts is impossible to automate efficiently and entirely impractical to do manually.

But it would be easy to restrict the associated bot follow/clap /multipost tactics. It could be done in a second by changing a line or two of backend code.

Should we assume that Medium speaks with a forked tongue? That they pretend in public to be all about quality, 'selecting gems' with Boost, but in fact are happy to skim a few dollars off the quantity of AI-based content and user churn?
