I suspect that the dancers represent the traditional tactic of covering as many demographic bases as possible and making a play for the votes of gay men. This seems to be a standard approach in the exuberantly camp world of Eurovision.

But the facial hair is maybe meant as a nod towards the animalistic side of the concept.
