I think that very indirectly we do, in the sense that people who read engaging and thoughtful comments sometimes then look at our profiles, read an article (which will be the first or second pinned one usually, so if that's a boosted piece, a new-to-you user reading it will clock up max earnings, especially if they then follow you.

Plus, it does seem that active engagement with users may slightly prompt the algo to push your stories into their feed.

I comment extensively not to increase readership or earnings, but because that is for me one of the main points of this platform (which could do with an interface upgrade, but that's another matter...). Nonetheless, I think commenting properly, rather than 'Great story! Thanks for sharing!' comment-and-runners, does bring slight financial rewards as well.
