I used to do translations for the Hoteliers Association of the Costa del Sol. One summer they had a piece about sardines in their magazine (left in hotel lobbies and at tourist offices, like an in-flight airline magazine), as barbecued sardines 'al espeto' are a real Málaga summer beachside tradition.
It was extolling the nutritional virtues of the fish, the omega-3, etc., and also said 'and they are a great source of calcium if you eat the bones as well'.
Someone in editorial clearly decided this was either unsafe or simply gross advice, and a couple of days later they sent a revised version which was exactly the same, except for the 'chomping down on the bones' bit.
