I wonder if it is down to some data infrastructure being in a particular place - like a foreign customs official thinking everyone in Britain lives in Heathrow, because that is where they got on their plane.

I just don't know why they pretend to be so precise, when they know it will just be misleading, and even freak some people out. And also give the impression that their grip on the data in their systems is so haphazard.

If it thinks I'm in some obscure Castilian village, why would I believe it when it recommends a person or product based on my profile? It's just undermined one of it's key selling points as Master of Data.
