If he did, he could maybe explain the reason why greying out the clap button for the first 31 seconds after an article is opened, thereby eliminating clap-and-running at a stroke (@SusieKearley's idea originally, I think) would either be technically impossible, or would in the view of management not be a suitable solution.

There may be good reasons why this would not be the silver bullet it seems to be, but it would be good to hear them from those in the know.
