If you divide global GDP by population you get around $12,000, I think, which is about equivalent to the GDP per capita of countries like Costa Rica Turkey, Hungary.

So again in very rough terms, everyone on the planet could have the standard of living of those countries if resources were distributed evenly.

Although you'd have to work out what the mean standard of living of Costa Rica or Turkey would be if their resources were distributed evenly.

Hungary or Croatia, with roughly global mean per capita GDP and low GINI indices, should give the best idea of what equitable global distribution of resources should look like. Although as EU members they get significant transfers from richer countries, which wouldn't be richer on such a scenario.

Shit, I don't know.

But I'm 99.9999% per cent sure that if that button existed, the majority of those substantially above the mean point would choose not to press it.
