I'll look forward to reading that, Alex. I agree that The Jam were far more authentic, and had a more intelligent critique of society, rather than simply V-flicking rebellious posturing, that appealed more to teenage affectations.
The Jam's suits and ties were off-putting to kids in school uniform, I feel. Funny how 'fashion' can trump 'message' sometimes.
Malcolm McLaren knew what he was doing - and trying to encourage genuine social change most certainly wasn't it!
