If writers see that boost-chasing doesn't work, don't trust the system and how it's applied, the obvious choice is to set up their own pubs to at least have a chance of Illuminatus status, and get to submit 2 of their own pieces each month (another system flaw).

That means fragmentation - more and more small pubs.

Yet the Boost seemed initially to be meant to consolidate certain flagship pubs (as did Medium Day), so the platform would have a group of 'semi-professional' big names to place in its shop window.

But if a talented writer's stuff at Fanfare (e.g.) is being overlooked, the obvious approach is to set up their own film&tv pub. And there will then be dozens of them.

That simply makes the mission of 'seeking out and spotlighting the best talent' even more difficult.
