I'm seriously thinking about returning to academia to do some serious study into the whole phenomenon, from an economic, sociological and environmental perspective. Moral philosophy is a big part as well - the rights of workers to holidays and freedom of travel, the rights of populations to control local development .

Benidorm being Benidorm, it has the regional state school of tourism studies here. I see myself being the bearded old radical hippy professor railing against the system. That would be a fun alternative to retirement!
