It does seem to go in waves, but there is definitely a 'Eurovision' style. Spain has often tended to go for 'distinctly Spanish' entries, with little success, and their only decent showing recently was with Chanel's more global Latin pop number. There are mutterings that the country should just go down the 'pop charts' route and try a more typical Euro approach. So maybe homogenisation is inevitable in pursuit of votes.
