It is infuriating, the way we have to prod our way around the platform with a white stick, surmising and second-guessing.

And there is no answer. I suspect that followers might sometimes help, if you happen to publish something that chimes with enough of the genuine profiles, but more often harms you, by sending the wrong signal to the algorithm, that your own followers are ignoring you, so you must be rubbish.
