It's funny the way you just adapt - move closer, fill in the blanks, but never think what you're seeing is abnormal, because that's all you know. I guess you could live a whole life being colour blind and never even knowing it, because to you everything looks normal.

There was another incident, and I can't remember if this came just before or after the new maths teacher. I went to London with my parents, and on the Tube, the tunnel wall on the opposite side of the track is covered with billboards. Obviously in that situation you can't just casually shuffle three steps closer without even thinking, or you'd fall to your death under an oncoming train. So you realise that at the normal, imposed viewing distance, you can't see what normal people obviously can, or else these advertising guys are wasting their money.

Anyway, I thought this was a great piece, Rolland. Full of emotion, tension and insight. Thanks.
