I've been a bit slack there of late, Sadie, but should have something for you soon about UK democracy and the recent changes to eligibility of long-term emigrants (including myself), and whether that's more or less democratic. I need to do some research into the experience of other countries first, though. This would probably need a second article about the FPTP constituency system, compared with the regional list d'Hondt voting method here in Spain, as the two issues are interrelated.
