I've been meaning to re-read The Time Machine for a while now. As our own society devolves so rapidly back into a world of an idle elite incapable of performing the most basic practical functions, and a brutish underclass, I find Wells' idea of turning the relationship between the two groups at least partly on its head an intriguing one.
