One other thing about boosts: in January at least, boosts were reported by many as being down to maybe $10-15 in earnings. My two very late Dec/early Jan boosts managed $35-40, when I would have expected $80-110 from those stats in 2024.
Now, Tony says 'we are paying at the same rate', but 'we have slashed earnings for reads from your regular circle'.
Fine.
But boosts by definition attract the vast majority of reads from people outside your circle, new-to-you users.
So by definition they should be earning the same. But they are not. Therefore Tony is lying through his teeth.
It could be that the 'boost multiplier' has been scrapped. Not necessarily a bad thing - it was certainly overtuned. No official declaration (of course), but it seemed to be a factor of x4 or x5, maybe. Around that order.
But boost earnings in Jan were down by a factor of 7-10. Even if the boost multiplier were eliminated, and Tony had just neglected to mention that from his claim that 'nothing's changed' (deceit by omission), the regular rate for new-to-you member readers must have dropped by around 50%.
