One thing I proposed a while back is that every writer should be able to nominate two of their own stories per month for boosting, to be reviewed by Curation. That would make for rather more work for the inhouse team, but make everyone feel they had an equal, fair chance. And that in itself would do much to repair the damage that Medium has done to the relationship between writers and platform, and between writers and pubs, which would, in my opinion, be worth the cost of hiring half a dozen more inhouse curators to handle the workload.
I don't believe Medium understands the value of trust.
And I think the CEO's interactions with the users demonstrate that I am correct in that belief.
