Or maybe an overconfident autocomplete. If they assumed their long 'i' was an 'ee' in English, and entered 'splee...' in a digital device, it would probably come up with 'spleen' as the suggestion. And then the old automation bias kicks in - if that's what the machine says, it must be right.
