PwC bugs me - what makes them so special that they can defy the capitalisation rules with that 'w'?

Or I guess the question really is, why did Mr Waterhouse (I assume it was a 'he') allow the downgrade to being just a lower case suffix of Price in the first place? And then let Mr (?) Coopers come along and keep his capital 'C'?

Did the Waterhouses get some kind of equity compensation in exchange for their case humiliation?
