Sadly, no one is as lost as Joey Barton himself. If only he could successfully address the traumas that hound him, and must have done since his early boyhood.

One can only imagine the even more awful course his life would have taken were it not for his undoubted (though often wasted) footballing talent.

I sometimes wonder if anyone on the far right is free of hideous childhood trauma. I doubt it. I don't think that such senseless hatred and urge to lash out at others can come from anywhere else.
