Spain may not be the ideal location for you to decamp to, Kenny. There are plenty of sleepier villages, of course, but they will all tend to crank things up at least once a year for their fiesta mayor.

Where we are really seems to go for it though - we have the summer fiesta, then another in October which is when the actual patron saint's day is, and six months after that the 'half-year' fiesta, as they can't wait a whole year to get partying again.

And the medieval fair in July.

All with accompanying fireworks of various kinds, and at various times, and brass bands parading through the streets.
