Thank you very much, Gary. I was very unsure about this - the idea kind of morphed as I was writing it, and I felt in the end it had maybe just gone a little weird and impenetrable.

The best bit was coming across the HP Lovecraft parody - very funny, and so unexpected. I had no idea he got up to that kind of thing.
