Thanks, Besanya. Yes, I first went to Barcelona in 1991 when it was being spruced up for the Olympics, and really wasn't a major tourist destination at all. Thirty years later, and much of the city is practically a theme park. The influencer era seems to have turbocharged the whole 'disposable culture' concept as well.
