Thanks for the feedback, GS. I guess you're right. But that just seems clumsily like the whole 'do you see what I did there?', or 'and now here's the punchline' flagging up of humorous devices. I don't feel we should have to do that. It's fine if people get the wrong idea and click away, but that shouldn't impact the score assigned to the perception of the article by those who stick around. Yet apparently that specific metric is a crucial multiplier in the equation.
