I commented on Amy's piece yesterday, and the Medium algorithm has now decided I am obsessed with Barbie.
While I suggested there yesterday that the main point of the movie seemed to be for Mattel to 'ironifemiwash' its image and sell more toys, I am now coming round to the view that it was in fact an altruistic prompt for the world to exorcise collective Barbie childhood trauma/nostalgia.
It's definitely won the showdown with Oppenheimer. I'm seeing much less revisiting of Cold War nuclear annihilation angst. Or maybe that's just the algorithm talking?
