Thanks, Mike. I'll carry on posting here, but not with a view to gaining any momentum, as that seems pointless. At least under the current set-up. And even if it weren't, any achievements would simply be washed away by the next Medium volte-face.

So I'll stop bother trying to find find things to write about, or acting on vague urges, and instead wait until I feel a real need to do so.

And probably try to put together a collection of short stories and/or poetry to self-publish as an e-book elsewhere.
