That reminds me - I need to rewrite my story about carobs, the most wonderful trees that we have all over here, that can almost rot away completely on the inside over centuries, yet still produce new growth from the tower-like shell of their bark.

There's one that's 800 years old just down the road from us. Not bad for a rotten tree.
