The actual article - if you can call it that - which I was thinking of in fact seemed to discuss little more than the writer's choice of coffee creamer that particular morning, but that seems too implausible. It was something of a 'Hmm. I see. So this is what Medium's like...' moment back in my earliest days.

To be fair, I actually did learn something from that - I previously had no idea there even was such a thing as 'coffee creamer', as opposed to, you know, milk, like we have in normal countries.

Maybe this dairy exceptionalism partly explains US politics.
