The ideal solution would be to increase the size of the pie, not by adding more readers, necessarily, but by educating them to shift from the 'six amazing habits of all the bestest billionaires' bullshit to the proper stuff the likes of you and I write.

However, any such ambition is doomed to failure, I fear.

I am increasingly convinced that the main problem of Medium isn't the dumb distribution system, but the dumb readers. They're simply not up to scratch. We need to fire them and get a new lot in. Then again, 5 bucks a month for all the crap we post here is kind of pre-selecting for 'dumb', isn't it?
