The versatility of the machete as a gardening/landscaping implement is quite astonishing. Not something you ever see in garden centres in the UK, but having seen them in action in Venezuela, I picked one up here in Spain - where they are a standard piece of the toolkit thanks to the Latin American influence - as soon as I bought a house with a (very overgrown) garden.
