There was a pizzeria I went to in Trieste which, when a US Navy battleship was in port on maneuvers (I guess I have to spell it that weird way for the American military) years earlier, had added a 'US Navy Pizza' to its menu, with fries on top. Maybe an egg as well? I think a friend of mine once ordered it for a laugh, but mostly it just sat there as an unused conceptual tribute to past events.

I rather like the idea.

That said, there are claims that carbonara was originally invented for GIs, using their ham and egg rations, and that's a stone-cold Italian classic. Well, not stone-cold, or the egg won't cook through.
