This is an important point. The Trump bullet may be dodged - though of course even if he loses again, that means he's still eligible for another run, unlikely as that should be, even in the La-La Land of the GOP primaries.

But the real concern is that the Republican hardcore may for 2028 instead settle on a less openly repugnant and maladjusted deviant with equally dangerous views. Or more so, in fact, as Trump isn't an ideologue in any way, simply a racist snake poison salesman.

If the tenuously moral middle-ground floating voters can be won over by a sharp-suited, fresh faced zealot who talks business and low taxes, while in fact plotting a medieval fundamentalist state and (greater) ethnic cleansing, the US could end up with an even more deadly executive branch.
