This is an important point, I feel. Because otherwise anyone who does indicate pronoun preference may feel they are marking themselves out as 'one of those outsiders who demands special attention', in the words of the reactionaries.

There would actually be an argument for making this the default for new accounts, with an opt-out option, as a nudge approach towards normalisation.
