This is fantastic, Jes. I read it earlier but was on my phone so preferred not to make a fat-fingered comment.

You emphasise here what for me are all the key points of successful education: individual creativity, sensitivity to each individuals needs, capacities and interests; hands-on, physical experimentation; time space and encouragement to be oneself.

All the things that, as you say, regimented national curricula and box-ticking inspections are designed to eliminate.
