This is hellishly annoying. And compounded by the fact that if you accidentally press the button, it insists on labouring through a whole frustrated cycle, filling its pipes with air, which means you then have to sit the the accusatory spluttering a second time over, even after you've dutifully refilled.

However, I also find it a useful reminder of how negativity bias affects our perception of the world, if we let it.

"It always runs out just when I need a coffee in the morning!" I wail silently.

But then remind myself that actually it doesn't, I just remember the aberrant episodes more, and mustn't let that skewed perception cloud my judgement.
