This is my sprout hack that satisfies both sides of the Great Divide at Christmas:

Steam the sprouts, halve, and toss in a sofrito of garlic, onions, pine nuts, raisins and (if all are meat eaters) finely chopped streaky bacon/lardons/similar concentrated pigginess, seasoned with nutmeg/allspice/a hint of cinnamon for that Christmassy aroma.

Sprouty enough to keep the traditionalists from revolting, sufficiently masked to appease the nay-sayers.

The idea draws on the traditional Catalan style of serving spinach, which is another love-or-loathe veg.
