Just the look on his face, and the simple dilemma of the situation prompted a whole interior dialogue for him in my mind:

"Gee, I really love beer. But I really love fishin' too. If I grab the beer, I might lose the fish. But if I catch the fish, I might lose the beer. Darn it, but ain't life tough sometimes? I just dunno!"
